 treasure hunt[01]  - amoeba records, largest independent record store in the world; these guys are cool! the fifteen minutes i had was just nowhere near enough time to investigate even a fraction of what they have. check them out if you are in town.

 graphics[17]  - news just in from the newly weds! the wedding of the summer in ye old newspaper format and summed up with some awesome infographics has just dropped into my american letterbox. good on you guys...i just hope you didn't spend too much of your time in thailand putting it together...haha

 advertising[02]  - so i saw this photo in the hollywood/max factor museum last week. in our tour guides words 'apparently this is about a 100 year old shot of hollywoodland. it was a sign for a real estate developer that went by that name and i'm told the mayor requested they lost the 'land' from their company name as they didn't want to give them free advertising'*...the rest as they say is history

*of course, i'm open to challenges if this was a q.i. moment

 think beyond yourself[01]  - so when did sony just start getting annoying, let me rephrase that, i wonder how many times they have come close to going 'universal' and then decided to remain annoyingly closed garden. it's funny that whenever i am up against a deadline and sony are involved my stress usually jumps through the roof. their lack of connectivity to my mac world in anyway is very frustrating, be it video, photo, leads, SD cards or whatever. maybe i just grew out of their my-first-sony approach to everything. 残念です。

 safety[01]  - so this is my last post on flying hopefully for a while. since i have moved state-side i've had to make the move from good old ba to delta. their safety vid is the thing that surprised me the most and i thought was pretty well executed. i just checked to see if it's the kind of thing that might (1) be on youtube and (2) be the kind of thing people make the effort to watch...a resounding yes! apparently 1,778,773 people think so, and there i was thinking NOBODY would watch an airline safety video without being forced to do so on a plane. thinking about it that's probably a much higher watching verses concentration level than airlines achieve in context...

 american metal  - i took my first greyhound bus the other weekend. not the experience that the movies had lead me to believe as i wasn't in the lager silver bullet, but on the plus side it wasn't as 'crazy' as i was told it would be. the highlight was probably finding this in the carpark on one of the 'relief' breaks. i might have finally found a use for my 14mm lens and a start point for my car hunting.
